The grind of early morning workouts is definitely rigorous, but its necessary to in order to be ready for fall practice and when the season finally rolls around. For Northwestern, their usual early morning workout got a bit of a shake up on June 26. The players were led to the campus north beach on Lake Michigan for a grueling military-style workout and team building exercise. A video crew was on hand and put together this footage, which was released on Wednesday.

And Villanueva, who played only 20 games while buried on the Pistons bench this past season, is video blogging about his off-season. Titled #BelieveInCharlie, Villanueva is documenting his experience during free agency. The 6-foot-11, 235-pound power forward will upload videos of his workouts, phone calls with journalists (including the Free Press Vince Ellis in the first episode) and his agent, and his travels from city to city to visit NBA franchises. The first episode, clocking in at 6 minutes and 20 seconds, was posted Tuesday night and new ones will go live at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays going forward.
